The Presbyterian Women (PW) wish to extend a huge “Thank You” to all the people who volunteer at Second Hand Rose, our consignment shop.

The greatest share of these women have worked faithfully since the beginning.  It started as Phase II consignment shop in 1995 in the basement of the church.  We moved to the house in October 2002.  Not only does the community and the church benefit from Second Hand Rose but it has been a definite outreach.  Our women at Second Hand Rose graciously serve many people from all over central New York.

“Many hands make light work.”  If you have an extra hour or two and don’t already work at Second Hand Rose, we’d love for you to join us.

God's Blessings and a big 'Thank You' to everyone who has helped make 2013 another successful year for this Presbyterian Women’s mission.

We are very proud of one of the missions of the First Presbyterian Church of Oneida.  Second Hand Rose is located in what was once the manse -- a lovely two-story, seven room home behind the church on the corner of Broad and Stone Streets.  We are a consignment shop, which means that we accept gently used clothing and accessories as well as household and decorative items to sell at our shop.

Details are available to prospective
consigners and customers by calling (315) 366-9900
OR
visiting the shop between the hours of
11:00 am and 3:00 pm, Wednesday through Saturday.

The shop has fulfilled the dream of long-time church member, Ruth Rose, hence the name.  It began in the basement of the church in 1995 and moved to its current location in the fall of 2002.  We have grown beyond anyone's expectations and have become a favorite stop not just for those in our own community, but for bargain hunters from Syracuse, Utica and beyond.  Our existence gives us the opportunity to help people in need, as we have become a referral point from other churches, schools, the Salvation Army and various service organizations.  Some customers come in need of food or clothing, but while here they quietly share their personal burdens.  These are the real rewards, the unexpected moments when we can call upon our Pastors, Deacons, committees and the strength within ourselves to make a difference in someone's life.

The consignment shop is supported by over 50 volunteers, both men and women, without whom we could not exist.  We have been blessed with success but realize that everything we receive is a gift from God and with that gift comes two obligations: to give thanks and to share the blessing.  We are thankful to our wonderful consigners and customers, as they assist us in the needs of our church, our mission to the community, and to reach out to the rest of the world with love and compassion.
